Do you want a revival in your church? If this is your desire, then God can use you to pray and work for a revival.
"When churches are revived, it is because some individual seeks earnestly for the blessing of God. He hungers and thirsts after God, and asks in faith, and receives accordingly. He goes to work in earnest, feeling his great dependence upon the Lord, and souls are aroused to seek for a like blessing, and a season of refreshing falls upon the hearts of men." ChS 121
Anyone can seek for a revival, pastors, teachers and laymen. This material can be used to lead out in:
Family Worship
Prayer Meeting
Weekend Retreats
Sermon Series
Private Study
Church School and Home School
THE FIRST STEP: Your first step is to eat God’s Word for yourself. Through prayer and study ask God to show you yourself. This may take days of wrestling with God, but persevere and do not give up. As God teaches you, surrender to Him totally and completely. Eat and live by His every word. Before you can begin a revival in your church, you must experience it yourself.
"As our physical life is sustained by food, so our spiritual life is sustained by the Word of God. And every soul is to receive life from God’s Word for himself. As we must eat for ourselves in order to receive nourishment, so we must receive the Word for ourselves. We are not to obtain it merely through the medium of another’s mind. We should carefully study the Bible, asking God for aid of the Holy Spirit, that we may understand His Word. We should take one verse, and concentrate the mind on the task of ascertaining the thought which God has put in that verse for us. We should dwell upon the thought until it becomes our own, and we know ‘what saith the Lord.’" DA 390
THE SECOND STEP: The next place for a revival is in your home. Your home is the first place you are to practice the gospel of Christ. Then bring your family together to study and pray for a revival.
THE THIRD STEP: Ask God to show you how you can present this material to your church. Anyone can lead out in prayer meeting, Sabbath afternoon Bible studies or the 11:00 service. During the week stay in touch with one another, pray, share and encourage one another. In a group discussion, have one person read about a half a page and then another person read the rest of the page. Then discuss the questions.
